Health and Safety at The Scrappers
Here at The Scrappers we take Health and Safety very seriously, of both our customers and our staff. Our site is hazardous and is categorised by the authorities as a medium risk site, this is why we have rules and regulations for being on site.
Assessing The Risks
We have analysed the risks on site and identified all the Health and Safety issues, which means we have thorough risk assessments and method statements, fire precautions and (COSHH) Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.
On site at all times we have a TCM (Technically Competent Manager) which means we have been certified by Wamitab (Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board) and have COTC (Certificate of Technical Competency). This means that we are one of the safest salvage yard sites in the UK.
Keeping People Safe
If you come onto our site, you will find that there exclusion zones for members of the public, this is due to there being a higher risk in them areas. Every single person, staff and customers included, must have a hi-visability vest on before entering the yard and customers are at all times accompanied by a member of staff.
