Are Scrapyards Open During Lockdown? How we are staying safe
The answer is yes, we are open for all your motoring needs from scrapping a vehicle, to obtaining quality used car parts.
We are sticking to safety guidelines so that our customers and staff are kept protected in this pandemic. This means we are encouraging customers to order parts online and where possible opt for the delivery option. We usually ship parts out on the same day you buy them, ensuring you receive what you need as quickly as possible.
We are also operating a collection only policy for scrap cars and scrap vans so there is no need for you to travel to our scrapyard in Bolton.
Our drivers will contact you prior to collection to arrange a suitable scrap car collection time.
We ask that you leave your scrap vehicle keys and log book inside your car or van before one of our agents comes to collect it.
Payments will be arranged via online banking, which is also the law, so there is no concern in relation to handling any cash.
If you need a certain replacement car part, we would encourage you to call us first on 01204388488 and speak to a staff member. If you want to view and collect the part in person we will allocate you a time to come to our salvage yard in Bolton.
This is so everyone can be safe and we manage the number of visits at one time.
An alternative option is to search online via our website or you can live chat with a member of our staff too.
All these measures are to keep everyone safe while in lockdown and while Covid-19 related restrictions are in place.
Even if you live further afield than Bolton, we can still send out an agent to collect your car. As a general rule we are currently operating on a 50 mile radius from Bolton, stretching far and wide in the North West and beyond.
In relation to parts, we’re operating on a nationwide scale.
Recycling is an integral part of looking after the environment, so please remember when you are scrapping a vehicle with The Scrappers you are choosing an ATF site (authorised treatment facility). Only ATFs are scrap yards that stick to rules and regulations which relate to disposing and dismantling of scrap vehicles, and they are monitored by the Environment Agency (EA).
We are also WAMITAB accredited, this stands for Waste Management Industry and Advisory Board. This confirms meeting the quality specifications and educational requirements for training and development programmes to WAMITAB standards.
